LASIK is a form of laser-guided surgery to the eye intended to repair difficulties with sight. Although relatively uncommon, complicating problems can occur with LASIK or any method of eye surgeries. A number of the more regularly reported complications of LASIK can include: infection, light sensitive or dry eyes, over or under correction, fluctuations in vision, starbursts or halos around lights, double vision, and problems with the flap that was produced during the operation. Although LASIK technology is improving quickly, research has not completely defined long-term or permanent complications. The surgery cannot be reversed.
