LASIK is a type of laser surgery to the eye meant to rectify disorders with eyesight. The surgery is performed by ophthalmologists, who are physicians who specialize in eye problems. LASIK is usually preferred to pRK (photorefractive keratectomy), as it is less painful and requires less time for full recovery.
