LASIK is a type of laser eye surgery which is intended to correct difficulties with sight. It is carried out by ophthalmologists, who are medical doctors specializing in diseases and disorders of the eye. The operating surgeon operates the lasers, which create all of the incisions. A flap is sliced in the cornea, which is the clear front part of the eye, using a laser or a blade. And then, an excimer laser is used to remodel the cornea. The laser destroys tissue without causing harm to the eye. Although usually uncommon, some complications may occur with LASIK or any type of eye surgeries. A few of of the more typically reported complications of LASIK typically include: infection, light sensitive or dry eyes, under or over correction, changing vision, rings around lights, doubled vision, and issues with the flap made during the surgical procedure. Although LASIK technology is getting better quickly, research studies have not completely defined long-term or permanent complications. The lASIK procedure can't be reversed.
